DI Samantha Phillips (played by Fay Ripley) is a corrupt policewoman who tries to blackmail Mickey and his crew by taking the spoils of their latest con, stealing a painting and leaving a copy for auction.
She has a safe deposit box where she stashes all her ill-gotten gains.
However, although she apparently outsmarted the gang by blackmailing them into stealing a rare comic so that she could sell it off herself after forcing Eddie to hand them over to her, it was revealed at the episode's conclusion that Eddie's 'betrayal' had been faked as part of a con against Phillips, the gang planting evidence to suggest that she had carried out the con herself.
